General questions

Q:What are the limitations of the trial version?
A:There are no functional limitations in the trial version. The only limitation is the 30 days evaluation time limit.
Q:Will PictMatch installation write DLLs to my system directory? Do I have to reboot after installing PictMatch? Does PictMatch have spywares?
A:No, no and no. PictMatch is free from spywares and is not adware. It's trialware only.
Q:Your examples show the use of the first window. When will I use the second window?
A:When you compare a new set of photos to an older set, which photos you want to keep. You will find the photos which are missing from the older set.
Q:Does PictMatch main screen accept Drag & Drop of folders?
A:Yes. It accepts files too, but takes their folders.
Q:There are too many options, I am lost!
A:Start using only the options you need and follow the tutorial included in the software documentation. You can always return to the default settings by pressing the "Restore Defaults" button, in the Options screen. We suggest evaluating the options one by one, always having in mind your actual needs.
Q:Why your default is adding an extra ".old" extension to the "deleted" file name, instead of simply deleting it?
A:Because this way you can easily recover your deleted files by simply using "ren *.old *." (without quotes) in a DOS prompt. You can change this default to really delete or move the file to other directory, if you want.
Q:Your software keeps the non-duplicated pictures, but I want the duplicated pictures instead. Is this possible?
A:Yes! Configure a destination directory for the erased files. Your duplicated pictures will be placed there.
Q:My computer crashed and I can't find my registration data. Will I have to pay for another registration?
A:No, you pay only once. Simply contact us (see addresses below) and we will give your data at no cost.
Q:I'm already a PictMatch user. Will this new version accept my registration data?
A:Yes.

Questions about new Regroup option

Q:What is the purpose of the Regroup option?
A:This option can help you to organize your pictures, by regrouping similar pictures in separated directories. For example, beach with beach, indoors with indoors, garden with garden and so on.
Q:Your software created dozens of subdirectories in my photos directory!
A:This can happen if the "Regroup" option is enabled and there is no similarity among many photos. This option is disabled by default and is expected to be disabled for ordinary comparison (unless, of course, if you want to use it).
Q:I used the option Regroup and the rocks and sand of the same beach are not together!
A:You can change the sensibility in program options, but the photos must have something similar for this option to work. If one photo has only rocks and other photo has only sand, they will not be grouped together, but if you have many other photos, showing rocks and sand together, it's much more likely - although not ensured - that they will be placed in the same directory.

Q:I don't want to use / don't have a credit card!
A:Verotel/TicketsClub form offers on-line check and pay-by-phone to US residents, as well as other payment options for some countries in Europe.
Q:I want to use PayPal!
A:PayPal is not available at present, but we want to offer this option as soon as possible.
Q:What's your refund policy?
A:No refund. Please test the software extensively during 30 days and register only if you are sure it works well for your needs and you like it.
